Shroder to direct mythological movie for SCI FI in Romania
Ricky Schroder is to direct Hellhounds, an original movie for the US SCI FI Channel which will shoot on location in Romania from Aug 31 to Sept 19.
The film is an international co-production between Canada's Muse
Entertainment and Romania's SC Studiourile Media Pro. Muse's
Michael Prupas is executive producing alongside RHI Entertainment's
Robert Halmi Sr and Robert Halmi Jr. RHI will handle worldwide
distribution.
The film is set in 500BC and stars Scott Elrod as the Greek warrior
Kleitos who fights against the terrible hellhounds of Hades to
rescue his bride Princess Demetria from the torments of the
Underworld. Paul A Birkett wrote the screenplay.
Schroder, an actor who rose to fame as a child star in films such
as The Champ and Little Lord Fauntleroy, has made a name as an
adult actor on TV in series like 24 and NYPD Blue. His previous
directing credits include coming-of-age boxing film Black Cloud and
music videos such as Whisky Lullaby for Brad Paisley and Alison
Krauss.
